War Horse
1. TGIF!
2. This morning our new weekend person will be in. I start training him (its actually not that easy, and believe it or not overwhelming for them....there is so much to learn not only on the PC and rent roll system but of the property itself). I will be training him all weekend.
3. Not sure if this is economy driven, but training of all staff used to be at the corporate office. Now it shifted onto our shoulders. The next thing to happen, in a month or two,is that we will no longer send out rental applications to corporate for approval (they are very strict on applicants. Almost as strict as if one were applying for a home loan). We will be doing it at each office through the RealPage System. A test project at our Palo Alto property, but apparently once approved one will be able to generate a completed 30 page lease form through that too!
4. Last week, our GM informed us to begin, or start completing a Forecast budget for the rest of the year. Seems like she is a delegator. Finally finished that on an Excel spreadsheet that I created, hyper linking total values to another page. Sent it to her yesterday. She was impressed! (Brownie points! :). I costs ranging from cleaning supplies at $30 per month to boiler to stair resurfacing at 150,000+.
5. Friend Griff called last night, and wanted to know if me, Mark, and Ho want to go see War Horse at the Curran tonight. I hesitated (I am budgeting for my trip to NOLA this month), but said yes. I haven't been to a play in years. Think the last one was Miss Saigon. Or was it Les Miserable?
6. So I will try to leave a bit early from work, take BART up, and meet them at The Urban Tavern, for dinner. We are also taking Griff out for a belated birthday dinner.
