November 18, 1978 - Jonestown Massacre
On this day, more than 900 people were willingly massacred. Including Congressman Leo Ryan. Many of the members were from the Bay Area. I sadly experienced what had happened in the aftermath.
When I was selling real estate, there was a home, just newly put on the market for sale, on Realtor tour, in Menlo Park, CA. The home was cute, nice. With pictures of a beautiful woman and her family and friends throughout. Her parents had just listed their daughters home for sale. Sadly, she was one of the followers. Apparently, there were other homes in the neighboring cities, that were put on the market that month for the same reasons :(
