The Wrestler (a quick movie review)
On the spur of the moment (since I am a very close drive to the movie cineplex, and no one wanted to go) I went to see The Wrestler. My thoughts? Interesting. And not a bad film.
1. Micky Rourke: Although he has had a bad rap with studios and producers in the past, and although he had abused himself physically over the yrs (he was not bad looking as a young man), he looked physically, in pretty good shape.
2. And his acting? Actually quite good! He sure can turn on the tears.
3. Tempo? The movie is slow at first, but actually sped up quite a bit within 30 minutes.
4, Marissa Tomei? She was pretty good also. I was surprised she had most of her clothes off in much of the film (professional stripper).
5. Not to spill to much of the beans, but as one is watching the wrestling matches, it is quite entertaining. Some of the "tricks of the trade" are a given, and the scenes get pretty violent, and bloody.
5. But as we get to know the character (The Ram), the matches get harder to watch, to see him hurting so much (both mentally and physically).
6. The cast? Don't know who of the actors were, but the wrestlers were huge!
7. The wrestler that was selling Micky, drugs, steroids, etc was huge! I mean huge! WOOF! WOOF! OK WOOF again!
8. And of course there was other locker room eye candy wrestlers to ogle.
9.

Mike Miller as Lex Lethal

Ernest Miller as the Ayatollah

Giovanni Roselli as Romeo Roselli

Kit Copi as Havoc
