Google anyone?

Does anyone know how I can block someone from accessing my live journal blogs via Google? Someone told me I popped up (my Blog popped up) when they were Googling a search. An employer could potentially find me here :(

Well, you can lock your journal, which is the only way it's guaranteed not to be searchable.

However, you can *minimise* your exposure to search engines by going here:
http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/

and choosing: "Minimize your journal's inclusion in search engine results".

and they post the caveat: "We can instruct search engines not to include your journal entries in their search results. Not all search engines recognize this request; if you do not want a journal entry to show up in search results, then make sure it is posted private or Friends-only."

And, you wonder why I don't post my pic all that often.

How did it pop up, as cellboy? If so, are you figuring that an employer would have that handle?

Well, someone was searching IBR 2008, and my journal popped up, since I titled it, IBR, or had something to say about it. I mentioned RichTrove.com, my friend that is a area photographic historian in a journal, and when Rich searched his name on Google, that particular journal popped up. So guess it's best to lock sometimes.

yeah - the entries that i really don't want posted on a billboard on a freeway i make friends-only. the rest would be too boring to put on one ;-)
