I need a new camera - Any suggestions?

If anyone can suggest a digital cam, thats light, easy to use, and not too $$$, let me know. I will get one with my tax refund (and new chaps too). Costco seems to have a good assortment.

Any connection between the webcam and the chaps? ;-)

Ha! Well, I don't need a web cam, just a point a shoot one. As for Chaps, the cam may be handy in updating some pics ;).

It would help to know what you plan to do with it. Do you want something portable for traveling? An SLR for serious work? What's your budget?

Last year I bought a Canon Power Shot 'A' series - it worked great for a while, then the lens mechanism became stuck, necessitiating repairs that would have cost more than replacing it. Come to find out, this problem is common with Canons, so I just thought I would clue you in about this.
