cellboy: (So heavy)
We, my trainer, my best friend Carlos, went to San Jose to see this bodybuilding contest. Carlos and I had never been, so it was interesting. Aside from being there 2 hrs too early, we did get to see some of the vendors, get free mixing cups, protein bars etc.

Observations of the crowd and contest
1. Interesting crowd. Some of the men, beefy, hunks, or just too beefy (roids). Few of the women were that way too.
2. The women competitors were interesting. Actually most were not as huge as I expected. Some looked actually pretty good. So toned, ripped.
3. For some reason the women were more interesting to watch. Carlos and I were guessing which of the many series of competitors would win.
4. As for the men. Very ripped, some very huge. This ripped look, not really my cup of tea. But I know and respect the dedication they put into acheiving this.
5. I am not sure if I would go again. This show, was slow. Dragged on for hrs (I thought SF Imperial Cornation was slow. This was very slow)
6. We got to meet Ronny Coleman, Mr. Olympia. OMG! The biggest arms/biceps I have ever seen. That was a turn on. Also met and saw on stage Tony Freeman. Behind the table, not so big. But on stage, after pumping up. Wow. 6'2 of pure muscle.
7. While I was at a vendors area, I was looking for House of Pain Shirts, this muscle man, was on the other side, about 100 ft away just staring at me. I looked up, and he smiled. I smiled back. Hummm. Cruising at a straight show?
8. Carlos had a good point. Bet some of these men, muscle men, have an unwritten code. They do play around with each other, but sort of just not discussed. A "good old boys club" sort of thing. Like fraternities.
9. My trainer left earlier. So Carlos and I went to dinner, down the street at Original Joes. I had the Joe's Special.
10. We then went back to the show. Still dragging. So we left for home.
11. Now off to work :(

I have to do in property management. Yes. It goes with the territory. But it is annoying

Last Wed, late afternoon, corporate calls and says that they want our model totally re-carpeted and painted with the new spec colors by Monday morning, for another, yes another owner visit :(. Which means that this model, some of our available units, and the common areas of the property both inside and out must be in pristine condition. This company prides itself in the cleanest most pristine properties anywhere, regardless of age.

So I and maintenance, moved wall paintings, knick knacks, dressers, and most of the furnture to an adjacent apt. Got the painters in and finished by Friday. Installed the new spec carpeting by Saturday afternoon.

While carpet and vinyl were being installed on Saturday, I helped maintenance finish up in the available units. Although, painted, and already professionally cleaned,,,, they still miss much, which we have to do. Spent a few hrs doing that, then went to the contest (that I mentioned about earlier) in San Jose.

So today, we spent most of the time setting up the model. I had to rewash windows, floors, polish furniture, rehang pictures, draperies, etc. Paint touch ups on baseboards, walls (flooring men, always make a mess of wood and wall work when installing), balcony paint touch ups. Fuck! I am exhausted!

I was in at 10 am, and was mostly finished at 10 pm. The model and focus unit look fantastic!! But maintenance and I are exhausted. If corporate is not pleased, or nit pick, I am going to be very pissed.

So tomorrow I am at work by 7am, to work on the grounds, and common areas. Corporate is to arrive by 10am. After they leave, I am closing up shop early.

Is this really worth it? As many of you know, apt management involves getting ones hands dirty some of the time, which is fine. But when you have been doing this for over 15 yrs, it is starting to get old. Taking vacations or time off, is always a hassle. And other things hard to explain are just plain annoying.
Yes. Salary is OK. I also get free rent (that is a hidden extra salary that is tax free). And some other perks too. But, I am still getting tired of all of this. I am so busy with the building, I am letting my apt go. Its a mess! I need to win the LOTTO (LOL)

Plus. I missed the Eagle Beer Bust today :(

I think I had better get to sleep. I just fell asleep while soaking in my bathtub. Off to sleep.
