He won't buy an iPad.
Apr. 5th, 2010 10:27 pmOn my way to Livermore yesterday, I was listening to Sunday morning Tech Talk, on KGO Talk Radio, with Leo Laporte
He was thrilled with his new iPad, and couldn't recommend it more. But his question to the viewers was that of a comment from another tech guy who felt that the iPad is a thing for passive entertainment and consumption, and not a creative device, such as with a PC or Mac.
I did not get to hear most of the show, due to Easter festivities, and did not get the guys name. It may be this guy. An interesting read.
The iPad. Is it Passive Entertainment, or a Creative Device?
Cory Doctorow thinks the iPad renders the user as a passive consumer.
However, Eliot Van Buskirk at Wired questions this, pointing to the potential for music-making.
