Getting older ain't always that bad
Feb. 6th, 2009 10:25 pm1. Tonight instead of watching Reality TV, Action shows...
2. I decided to watch PBS (What happened to me over the yrs? I used to watch this station religiously. Nova and Frontline were my faves).
3. Anyway, tonight was the documentary, The Pioneers of Television.
4. Many of you LJ'er are too young to remember or too young to have seen any of these shows.
5. This is where, young writers such as Mel Brooks, Woody Allen, Dick Van Dyke, and Neil Simon got their start.
6. I glad I am young enough to remember watching (many from their first seasons on) the Ed Sullivan Show, Laugh In,Carol Burnett, Aurthur Godfrey, The Smothers Brothers Show, The Honeymooners, The Jackie Gleason Show, Tony Orlando, Flip Wilson Show, Perry Como Show, Andy Williams. A lot of stars that were popular during the last 15 years were discovered during that time. There was a lot of talent, and creativity that is foundation of our good and talented comedians today.
7 It was a good watch to put a smile on anyone's face :)
