They are right. Our courts are slow

Our court system is slow
1. Up at 6 am, at work by 7am. 4 reports cranked out and sent to corporate.
2. Call the court at 8 am. They don't know what the defense has in mind. So I am on call again today. And maybe for the rest of the week?
3. Get this over already. This has been going on for almost 3 months!
4. I have office coverage for the day. I can't really do much but hang around, in office attire. In case they want me in, ASAP.
5. This is the case where I and another resident witnessed and after occurrence of spousal abuse (husband punching wife in eye) :(

Today

was an absolutely wasted day....
1. I really could not leave the area, or go too far, just in case I needed to be there.
2. I did not do much but surf the internet at home, nap, pay bills, and go to the bank. I did not want to get too involved with home stuff or away from home stuff anyway.
3. I was later notified that the day in court was canceled.
4. But now I am on call for the next few days. Back to work as usual tomorrow. Glad for that, for it gets boring doing nothing.
