1. Friday was a quiet night. I stayed in, did laundry, and was not in the mood for going out. Just as well.
2. Saturday: The usual morning routine. Since I have been more focused, and less BS (as nicely but firmly suggested by my trainer), I was up 20lbs on the dumbbell bench. More focus. And stronger. I hope to reach over 100 lbs (per dumbbell) in a couple of weeks.
3. With just a small reduction in carb intake (and increase in protein), I have been able to loose 6 lbs and maintain it (except for last night). And still build muscle.
4. Friend Mark works for
ItalFoods, and distributes to some of the best bay area restaurants, we sometimes are lucky to eat, and get a most hard to reserve spot in some of SF and the Bay Area eateries.
5. So last night Mark, Ho, and I went to
The Corner, on 18th and Mission. Knowing the chef and owner, not only guaranteed a hard to get table. We started out the evening with 4 appetizers (on the house). Trained with some of the tops chefs of NYC proved that this chef knows how to create with taste.
6. We ordered 3 separate entrees, to share
Chitarra Pasta chanterelle mushrooms, tat soi, cauliflower, grana padano & lemon thyme
Pork Belly With Poached Shrimp porcini mushrooms, cabbage, goose liver & black truffle sauce
California Lingcod fennel sausage, cipollini onions, soy beans & market greens
The pork belly was incredible. Not only in presentation, but in taste as well.
Here is the
Sample MenuOf course as some areas in San Francisco, as we are eating like kings, it is always interesting to look outside the window, and see the homeless walking by, scavenging the trash cans, as we are eating. I always feel bad (and a bit guilty) about a thing like that)
7. With 2 bottles of Bonny Doon Cabernet, and our entrees and an awesome chocolate cake desert, the total tab for 3 was only $49!
8. We ended up at 440 and the Edge later. I crashed at Ho's, but was at home early today
9. Today it's Eagle, then 440 for Sunday Furry Sunday
