MSY is still not open. But Mark, Ho, and I are still going to fly to Dallas tomorrow, then see what's next. If we can't get to Decadence, then we will try for Ft. Lauderdale (we have reservations at Key West next week). If we can't get there, it might be a few days in Dallas (where is South Fork?). If we do get to New Orleans, will Decadence be worth it if we get there? Rain? Curfew? Anyone there? Of course that city knows how to party regardless. Ending up in Dallas, not really sure what to do next is like being on Amazing Race! LOL

1. I'm usually pretty good at folding clothes for packing a suitcase. But this time I decided to roll most stuff, except for the 6 shirts on the right.

2. I checked various on line sources for tips on packing. Rolling seems to be the best. You can fit more, and clothes tend to wrinkle less.

3. My sister, the Martha Stewart of the family, said she has been doing that for years.

4. It does not look like much but I have 3 pairs of jeans, 3 pairs of short, lots of shirts and tank tops. There are shoes under there too.

5. I (and our group) am packing lots for yesterday, we really were not sure where we would end up. But New Orleans airport opened today. Still, once we get to Dallas, will there be delays? Who knows. I packed enough for a month! LOL

6. Mark, Ho, and I decided to gamble going no matter what. If it were impossible, we would try to go to Ft. Lauderdale, since we were going to Key West after anyways.

7. So think we will make it to New Orleans. Lot of friends initially canceled, but now are going.

8. It may or not be as crowded as it was when I went the year after Katrina. But that might be a good thing too. No long lines in the bars. Maybe meet more of the locals. And not a mob scene on Saturday night, where you can barely move down the streets.

10. Tom and Lee were going to cancel. Tom did not want to go with the rain and all. I said. It rains there all the time. Warm rain. We will still have fun. Last time I was there it rained for most of the weekend. But fun anyway.

11. They decided to go, now that the airport is open.

12. Most of the festivities are still going on as planned (except Barracuda. The organizer could not get there from San Francisco early this week to get it set up. So canceled)

13. Well off to sleep. Need to be up at 4 am!

14. Will try to send pics via my phone. There is no room in my suitcase for a camera! LOL
