two weeks! And finally back to the gym
Mar. 26th, 2008 09:35 pmI went to the gym tonight, after a 2 week break, due to, my trainer being sick, and the strange pull, in my lower back, that caused intermittent tenderness or pain in the abdomen, and left testicle. After 2 chiropractic visits, it seems better. They said my spine was aligned, and that the pinched nerve symptom will subside. I hope so. Or this will really screw up training. This uncomfortable feeling is not reoccurring as much. I just did the treadmill tonight, brisk walk, for 25 min, which the Dr recommended. It seems that sitting at this and the office computer makes the pain worse. Walking made it much better. And so does the wet/dry heating pad. And ice after.
Tomorrow I meet my trainer at the "Old Style" gym. We will begin with chest, shoulders, bi's and tri's in April. Leg presses, may be very light for awhile, until this symptom disappears. I was leg pressing 485 not bad for a novice. My goal is 600 by summer.
But the lesson learned. If you do leg presses on a Monday, do not do dead lifts the next day. Give the legs a break. And wear a belt!!!! :(
One thing I know, when I stepped into the gym tonight, I felt finally home. I really missed going!! All that energy. And I can't wait to join the Old Style gym tomorrow. That is a serious place! And of course looking at some of the eye candy also brings a good feeling.
