Father of LSD dies

In High School, many of my friends used it. I didn't. In a way I wish I had tried it once. But in a way I'm glad I didn't.

While I was at MIT, my friend, a chem major, actually paid her way through school by creating her own LSD. Alas, she used herself as a guinea pig, and is now, basically a vegetable. Actually, she's still perfectly mobile, but about as bright as a burnt-out hippy. A *far* cry from the brilliant cellist and scientist I once knew. She did wind up making some *really* good batches though. That said, I don't do any of that sort of thing anymore.

My sister, who is older than me, had lots of friends on the stuff in the 60's. Later in time she told be to be careful if I decide to give it a try. The chances of obtaining a *safe*, pure substance would be rare; not like in the good old days. You would never know what might happen (I suppose that applies to most street drugs today)

true... also, all such hallucinogens require a *huge* amount of free time, and are also affected by your mental state. It's just as easy to have a bad trip as it is to have a good one.

Yeah. I remember the one's on bad trips at the concerts :(. I also remember the kids that used to take a toilet paper cardboard roll, stuff the inside with toilet paper (= filter), then put over a can of Pam Cooking Spray, and inhale. Now they really became burned out over the yrs. Aside from the occasional MDMA (Ecsatsy) during those dance hall days, weed, and alcohol, I guess I've lived a pretty clean life.
