Politics

1. I try never to really discuss politics with those I do not know well.
2. Usually discuss only with family, or close friends
3. You see, I am still Canadian (long story why I still am, but I am working on changing that)
4. I still pay taxes, and when younger, could of been drafted. But still don't get too deep into it
5. Yrs ago, at my parents home, some friends brought up Nixon, the Vietnam War etc. Something was not agreed upon (my parents were against it)
6. So the right winger friends, rudely screaming, told off my parents, saying they were Communists, and that they should go back to Canada where they belong.
7. This over the yrs has happened off and on with others.
8. So I tread lightly :(

How many generations back should we go? Seventeen fifty, my great-great-grandfather was born here. He eventually moved to Canada. Some of his kids and grandkids moved back. Some didn't. Whatever.

So true. One thing that annoys me is those that don't vote. They have the wonderful privilege to do so, yet some don't. I do do a tisk tisk on them for that one. As for Canada? As the old saying goes (Canadians hate this), "Canada is the US's spare bedroom." (if the US could get their hands on this country.... such resources!)
