a change in the air

I was discussing this earlier, with a few friends, but is there a low mood out there this year? Last year, there were tons of LJ posts about the holidays and holiday cheer. Seems to be way less posts. And I have noticed the moods of the people in the building that I manage, they are so somber. Is it me? Am I imagining it? Is it my mood not theirs? I know every one is budgeting this year. Holiday Parties seem less. Even with our toy drive this year, donations are down. Every one seems to be on pins and needles due to the economy and politics I know. I guess this recession is causing many to have depression :(
