No it's rain. It rained so hard last night and this morning, I thought it was a plane flying close overhead. All we needed was some good East Coast thunder and lightning and it would of been really exciting.
Florida lightning storms are so much more interesting. At one point, while living in Royal Palm Beach, I was hearing a continuous, but distant "rumble". It was the sound of thunderstorms in the general area.
About 6-7 years ago we had weather breaking lighting strikes. Rare for the Bay Area. Continuous strikes lasting for over 30 minutes, about 2-5 minutes apart. That was awesome.
