RIP- Walter Cronkite

I grew up watching this man on TV. I am actually getting teary eyed. May he rest in peace.

"And that's the way it is, for July 17, 2009...."

My memories of him

1. He was like ones favorite grandfather. And his style of reporting, gave us a sense of his trust.
2. I remember his weekly special, The 21st Century (brought to you by, The Rock, Prudential Ins)
3. I am young enough to remember his reporting of:
a. The President Kennedy assassination
b. The Bobby Kennedy assassination
c. The assassination of Martin Luther King.
d. live feed from Vietnam during the war
e. The first landing on the moon
f. And much more.

Certainly watched him over Frank Renyolds (ABC) or Huntley & Brinkley (NBC)

I guess you had to be there. He was a legend in the world of news/reporting

Oh yeah! The 21st Century ! I loved that. They once played a clip from 2001--first time I'd seen anything to do with the movie.

Every now and then I look about and sorta giggle, thinking to myself, "Hey, we made it!" Glad he did as well.
