Daddy's (440), seems to lose it's bartenders...
Or should I say, it seems a lot of the bartenders especially those from 440, are buying their own bars.
In April of 2007, hunky bearish Paul Miller of 440, with partners Jon Airaudi(of Red Grill) and Mary Lemos (Moby Dicks), purchased the former Wilde Oscar's, renamed TRUCK, located at 1900 Folsom St. A good crowd. They even sell food!
Then in October, to the shock of many Kevin Owens sells the The Lone Star Saloon to a trio of working bartenders from the Castro, Tony Huerta (440), J.J. Beck(440), and Bill Coulter(although I did hear a couple complaints tonight at the Lone Star, regarding some of minor changes that have been made. Ugh.)
Good for all of them!!!
Who will be the next bartender to own a bar?

As far as selling bars is concerned, it's not a bad time to get the hell out of the business. Fewer folk are going to the bars these days, and insurance rates, and various political annoyances are making it difficult to stay open.
I wish them all luck.
