cellboy: (prepare to be annoyed)

Small things that irritate me

1. Since Longs Drugs is now CVS, they have changed stock items.
a. My favorite face mask, for pimples (Queen Helene (don't laugh)- Mint Julep Masque is gone (Walgreen's used to have it, but not all the time).
b. Also their other product, the best, was English Mud Masque- talk about cool wakerupper!
c. They used to have bell shaped red ear plugs (.33 decibels). Fit wonderfully. No longer have. Yes I found them on line :)
d.They had it this time, but Pepsodent Toothpaste is hard to find. Maybe because it's only $.99. But it tastes good.
2. OSH (Orchard Supply Hardware) went through the same change when Sears purchased them. The good old stuff. Gone
3. For some reason, which I can't delete or change or delete this(I've tried); Wells Fargo calls my cellphone with this annoying very scratchy automated message/voice (like she is calling me from the tarmac) telling me I have a mortgage payment due in a few days.
4. When a TV commercial is about to come on, there is a split second view of a previous commercial. Sorta like they forgot to tape the commercial at the actual beginning of the tape, not erasing the old recording.
5. Why is it that all TV stations tend to have commercials at the same time, like every 15 minutes? They would be smarter to do it at random. Then we could flip channels to spot another ongoing airing. Is this a FCC rule, or are the all in agreement to do it at the same time so they don't lose viewers? The Symbicort woman in the shadows annoys me.
6. Scalding hot soup.
7. Unmade beds, toilet seat lids up, and skid marks on the toilet seat annoy me.
8. I'm sure I can find more :)
9. I beginning to sound like Andy Rooney O-o

Can you say, "Get off my lawn?"

LOL! Or "Get off my street". No actually these are very very small annoyances. No biggies :)

I think what's happening with the little commercial flash is that the network feed contains a set of national commercials, but the local station overlays them with its own locally purchased ads. They're not always careful enough to align it perfectly, so sometimes the start or end of a national ad slips through.

On the other hand, CVS also carries store-brand generics of specific consumables I use (e.g., certain mouthwashes whose brand names are goddamn expensive) at quite reasonable prices.

So true. I did however like, even though pricier that Thrifty, or Walgreen's, to shop at the Long at Sequoia Station (RC). They had a great selection of stuff (as did the Safeway next door) which other sister chains did not :)

I will always mourn the loss of Payless. The quantity & quality of their products and service degraded substantially after they were acquired by Thrifty Rite Aid.
