A Glee late bloomer
Apr. 27th, 2010 11:09 pm1. I must say, that at first viewing of Glee when it first aired, I, well, was not that impressed
2. I was wrong. I have been watching it now for the past month.
3. Although a bit empty of meaty script in some episodes, yet other times, it can be quite good.
4. But I must say, the music, the performances in conveying the script and mood of the moment is good.
5. One nice thing of being my age is that having parents, family and relatives, who constantly sung, and played music in their homes, I was exposed, to musical tunes of their era, the 30's, 40's, and 50's. And my era the 60's to present.
6. Glee brings all these eras to light, nudging my synapses to recall, maybe a bit, of what I heard in the past years growing up.
7. Tonight's songs, by Burt Bacharach and Hal David are presented One Less Bell to Answer, which was made famous by The Fifth Dimension (Remember Soul Train?).
and A House is Not a Home, originally made famous by Dionne Warrick.
8. "When I think of Home" (The Wiz), originally made famous by Diana Ross, and made even better by
Stephanie Mills (I think a better rendition)
9. Other awesome renditions were Christina Aguileara's "Beautiful", and Bruce Springsteen's, Fire.
10. Here are the songs from tonight's Glee episode, which are listed below the web page to play:
