I don't have mixed feelings at all… Firing squad (IMHO) is squarely in the "cruel and unusual" category. It's not like other methods of carrying out death sentences. Hell, if the idea of a chemically induced death sentence being carried out can be considered potentially inhumane, how in the nine hells is a firing squad considered perfectly fine?

Actually I agree with you. I really don't have mixed feelings on this one, just wanted to get some good feedback. I suppose chemically induced death is the better of other evils (firing squad, hanging). But even that bothers me. (might be due to my religious or family upbringing). The idea of one gun having a blank bullet, as so that no one would know who fired the fatal shot is creepy. I think all are guilty on this one, no matter who fired the fatal shot. And they should all feel bad. I never believed in the "eye for an eye' thing.

MIxed feelingson any death sentence. There's that whole eye for an eye thing, but on the other hand, aren't they doing the exact same by killing someone? Idaho still has hanging on the books, not that I think they've done anyone in some time. But firing squad just seems extremely cruel to the person and to the people pulling the trigger.
