Sad news...my sister called....
1.....to tell me that her husband, my brother-in-law has Parkinson's Disease.
2. Apparently they had known about this for almost 7 years.
3. But now it is becoming a bit noticeable, so it was time to tell family. The kids found out last August when they were all in a trip to Hawaii. And later come out to friends.
4. I did notice a momentary brief shaking from his hand when I was up there for Christmas however, but thought nothing of it.
5. My sister seems to be handling it well. As she said, after going through Dad's ordeal with ALS, and my Mom's health issues a few years ago, she is prepared to deal with this, possibly even better. She is a strong person.
6. He is still practicing Chiropractic, 4 days a week (his newer associate is to take over the business in a year or so).
7. He still golfs at least twice a week. And the Bunco nights with friends.
8. I just feel for my sister as time goes on, and for my brother-in-law as he later succumbs to the disease.
9. Today is suddenly not too good of a day :(
10. He has many years ahead of him. Will see his last child marry in July. And has lived a good and thrilling life, with more good years to come. My prayers go out to him, my sister and the family.
11. Well again, as many say, "One does not know what life has in store for us. So best live life to the fullest!"
Humm. I was suddenly reminded of this song
