Federal Law prohibits Gay men from donating blood

In last night's TV episiode of Harry's Law, a gay man is fighting for the right to donate blood to save his dying brother. This scene is very moving. Hopefully middle America got to see this..

Gay men may not donate blood??? I don´t know about my country but if a gay man may not donate blood... not get married to another man... to me that almost sounds like LGBT people don´t have the same human rights like straight people... heaven, what a sad and very narrow-minded world we live in... I´m shocked, really... :-(
