The weekend and week so far

cellboy1. Friday was the usual with friends. The only difference is being a holiday weekend, the Castro was packed. Lots of out of towners. YUM
2. But bars, being too packed too loud are just not as tolerable as when I was young. So did not stay out as long as usual.
3. Saturday I decided to stay local. One of our managers wanted to cover for our weekend gal that day, so I sorta had to stay around. Did my usual food shopping etc.
4. I also started a new routine at the gym. It's from the 50's or 60's. Even though you are using lighter weights, doing 8 sets, 8 reps with a 15-30 rest looks easy but it isn't.
It called the Vince Girondas workout. I was to do biceps and Chest the first time, within 45 minutes. I only made it through the bicep sets. Did chest the next day. Once I get used to it, I'll be able to complete it all. This muscle guy at my gym told me about this. When he does it, he finishes wringing wet.
5. On Sunday I did chest. On Monday I did back and abs. CAN WE SAY SORE? I am sore all over.
6. His diet is really 60's though. 12 raw eggs, heavy cream in a blender. Once could add steak to it as well. Um. Shall we have a cigarette after the meal? LOL
7. Friend Patrick had the idea of going to the Golden Gate 75th anniversary and fireworks on Sunday. NOT! I, we, our group were not willing to deal with the thongs of people. I remember how packed it was for the 50th birthday. So many people were walking the bridge, the span actually flattened.
8. Instead, Tom and Lee, decided on Friday to have a BBQ at their home instead. It was really nice. The fog finally burned off to really enjoy their sunny patio. And of course the was too much food for the 10 of us.
9. We then later rolled our full tummys down to the Castro for a bit. But again too crowded.
I did not stay too long.
10. On Monday, I decided to stay out of the Castro (gayed out). I decided to go down the peninsula to visit the family cemeteries with some flowers (and get out of the cold fog).
11. My Grandfathers plot, in cemetery close to my childhood home, was a mess. I don't think anyone has visited it in years. So I raked the oak leaves off the flat stone, washed it, reset the pot of fake flowers, and added a few fresh ones aside. Then I went down to my parents and late partners site, then later off to Mt View, to Walmart to do a bit of shopping.
12. During that time, my friend Carlos called and asked me to come to his home for a BBQ, and to meet his friend OC. So I rushed up to Daly City, to end up having a great evening, and of course eating too much (they had enough food for 20 people!)
13. Aside to having a short work week (yay!), this weekend will be fun.
14. Friend Griff organized a trip for our small group to drive down Saturday to Hearst Castle. We'll return Sunday, after the tour. I haven't been there in years. Should be fun. Then the weekend after that, it will be a nice two day rest at the Russian River (if I don't have to work)
