DEAR LAZY WEB
May. 31st, 2012 07:30 amI'm thinking of buying a new iMac. Is it possible to transfer, migrate all from my lamp style, G4 power PC (cpu/processor) to an Intel based one (I have Tiger, OSX 10.4.11)?
All of a sudden I am now stuck at uploading any new software (Flash, etc). I have found various conflicting answers on this, ranging from not compatible to yes, if you use the Ethernet, to only being able to transfer some apps, not all, to just being able to transfer docs and data.
Or to just take it to the Apple Store and let them do it (oy! what they will see! LOL)

Non-universal applications will not run at all, as any new machine you buy will be running Lion, which doesn't have the emulation layer to run PPC-only applications.
