Saint Hot Mess Honey Bear

1. Friday turned out horribly fun. Our friend Patrick turned 50 that day. His part 1, 2 and 3 events, fundraising events were to happen Friday, Saturday, and Sunday respectively.

2. I closed the office at 6 pm Friday night, had a quick light dinner. Drove and parked at the BART station, to take BART and MUNI to the Castro (The Mix) for Patrick's Party Bus. Nice bus! One of those huge charter things, with plush seats and TV monitors above.

3. We started our Bar hopping in the Haight, at Trax. Fun bar. Our favorite, Brad the 440 bartender, was with us on the bus, with his BF. Strange to see him on the other side of the bar, and good to get to talk to both of them. He is really sweet.

4. Patrick's best friend from St Louis was also visiting. A hunk of a bear. But shyer than shy can be. He hardly spoke to anyone. Actually not at all. So at the second stop, Marlena's, friend Lee, decided he try. After a few minutes of going from subject to subject, he finally pulled out some conversation out of him. Subject. Skydiving. I had walked up to that point, and joined in. Lee and I and his partner Tom are toying with the idea of going skydiving... but after the 10 minute conversation was completed, he clammed up. Oy! Too bad. Such a hunk!

5. Upon arriving at Trax, Sister Pat N Leather (one of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence) sainted Patrick, for is hard work and dedication to our community. The saint-ing was funny, but also an honor. Good for Patrick. His Saint name is Saint Hot Mess Honey Bear.

6. After Marlena's we ended up at the Powerhouse. Fun. There was a bear go go dancer on the bar. I thought he was hot. Lee said he need to go go to the gym. LOL

7. Bill, Patrick's shy friend felt very uncomfortable at the Powerhouse. He was more used to conservative bars. So he left. Well, he dose come from the Mid West. LOL

8. Apparently one of the party riders, was pretty tipsy even before the bus thing started. He misstepped the steps on the bus going out, fell over, and out onto the sidewalk in front of the Powerhouse. On his short flight, he managed to grab the bus microphone, and snapped the mic cord off. I heard the next day he had fractured his arm in 3 places. Poor guy. And how embarrassing too!

9. After 3 hrs of the bar crawl, we were finally back to the Castro by midnight. I was over it, so it was back to the MUNI station, then BART for home, safely in bed by 1 am

10. Saturday morning I had to work for an hour. But then it was off to pick up Lee and Tom for the 2 hr drive to Sacramento, to Ken and Mark's annual BBQ and pool party (naked optional of course. Ho and Mark went up separately. They were staying in Sac overnight. Tome thought he had to work Sunday, which was not the case he found out on Friday. And I had to be around work, in case our temp had problems. So we went up for the day.

Naked by the pool but not me :(

11. Basically the same people attended. Many from SF, and many from the Sacramento Valley area. Being Mark and Ho, make me feel that I'm with my parents, and Lee was shy, I did not disrobe for the pool activities. Although Tom did wear a jock strap (good idea!)

12. Had a good time. Too much sun, and food (the temps were over 100).

13. We all made it back to SF by 8 pm.

14. Sunday was sleep in day, and a quick 45min visit to the gym. Then it was off to Lenny Broberg's Open House. He sold his home in Pacifica, and purchased a two story townhouse in SF (SOMA). He can now walk to work! (he is a Sargent with SFPD).

15. Familiar faces, and friends, and of course this was also incorporated as a fundraising event as well. After a couple of hours, it was off to meet Tom and Lee at the Lone Star for awhile. It was pretty packed, being warm weather and all.

16. Then home for a light dinner, and an early to bed evening.

17. Work was slow today, thank God. I was dragging a bit. Our warm weather is suppose to change to much cooler temps this week. But hopefully it will warm up for Up Your Alley Fair this Sunday. What to wear? What to wear??

18. Got to tighten my belt for the next two month. Lazy Bear and Southern Decadence is looming ahead!

Yes. Sisters in a bunch can be trying. As for energy, not sure. Think going to the gym might help. Maybe not. Tonight I'm beat. So will try to get to bed in about an hour :)
