I may be going through withdrawls.

I think I'm going to go through withdrawals. My external modem died, so no computer use this weekend. I love EarthLink, but OY!
I was on phone for an hour with someone in some distant land doing modem checks with EarthLink. Then asked me to do something on my pc. I say have a mac. He says Oh don't handle mac. Let me connect u to the mac dept. Wait 20 more minutes to be connected to accounting. OY. Then another 10 minutes to the right person to do the same tests to finally say I need a new modem. So no internet use via my mac. So will use my phone. A bit more work. But Oh well. Only glich is I can't approve a friend request on xtube. LOL

UPDATE: I shut everything off, unplugged the modem, and let it sit for two hours. Plugged everything in, booted up, and now it's working. Go figure. Guess I'll still have the new modem delivered just in case this one is on deaths door. Yes. I know. I posted this on FaceBook. Many said, you are with earthlink? That's so prehistoric! What's a modem? The still exist! Oy! Well I will upgrade my computer and such, soon I hope. As for Earthlink. Still like em.

Was it the guy in accounting who suggested that? Or did you think of that solution all on your own? If not, maybe you should call back to thank him. :)

No. The first guy had me go through all the procedures, then have me go to a http address, and get into the earthlink WAM and such. Yet he was not privy to Macs. So he accidently connected me to accounting, who then connected me to the 3rd person, who had me do the exact same things as the first person did. . Only to have no success either. So he assumed the modem as dead. Which it still may be dying a slow death. He was very nice, as all of them were, and I thanked him. So I just repeated the unplugging of the ethernet and other plugs, and this time on my own waiting longer with everything off. I think I did the same thing a couple of years ago. So maybe this will last!
