My! How time flys!

cellboy1. What a week! Last weekend was pretty low key for my standards. I did manage to stay in last Friday night as I mentioned in last Saturdays entry.
2. I did take BART in late Saturday afternoon for a fundraising event, and hung out with the boys for awhile. Ate dinner at FORK, then home.
3. Sunday, after gym time in SF, I did venture down to San Jose, to the BUTCH event. It was great to see and catch up a bit with Bob and![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
dendren. Jim managed to show up too! After a bit of libation, pizza, and pizza, it was time to head home.
4. As usual work has been a pill. For some reason, I just can't keep up or concentrate, or organize as well as I usually do. This may be the sign of a vacation much needed.
5. The day before I went to the river for Lazy Bear, I woke up with a sore throat, a slight cold and it was gone in a day. Carlos was sick too. After coming back, Ho was sick for a week. Lee was sick when he went to Canada that week, and now Tom has chest congestion. Looks like I need to hang out with different people! We keep getting each other sick! LOL
6. So feeling good last and this week, I did feel a bit run down. So Tuesday morning I feel a tingling on my lip. Oh oh. By Wednesday morning I have the bump of a cold sore beginning. E gads! Not again! Last time this happened, I did the home remedy thing. Ice, Ice, Ice. And believe it or not, a bit of urine now and then. Then that night some Abreva and some Campho-Phenique. It worked. It disappeared by the next day. I also was taking L-Lysine, which I still take each day. But this time, even the home remedies did not work. My lip started swelling it seemed by the minute. Lately I have been eating more foods that are rich in Arginine (peanuts, Almonds, Peanut Butter, Tomatoes), so that may also not of helped. Plus being stressed at work, and maybe not getting enough rest.
7. So in addition to the mentioned remedies I even tried applying garlic to the lip. It is suppose to kill the virus. OUCH!!!! Talk about burning!
It did cause the lip to swell this morning, but tonight it seems much much better (although I think the garlic burned the lip a bit). So hopefully by morning, with Abreva, some Phenique, and maybe some Vaseline it will be better by tomorrow.
8. If not, I'm staying in. I'm invited to a party Friday night (wink), but seeing that I could be contagious, I think staying in is a good thing (there's probably other contagious things at the party to worry about, so why add one more thing. LOL)
9. Hopefully Saturday friends and I will be seeing the movie The Butler. It looks like a good one.

If this is becoming a frequent occurrence, you may want to consider a low dose of acyclovir as a preventative.
