Flirt by a 411 operator
Dec. 7th, 2007 06:47 pmNot sure why I have thought of this. But in the 80's, before cell phones, we had pay phones and calling cards. So one day, while I was out previewing property in Cupertino (when I sold real estate), I stopped off at a very very very small bar called the Silver Fox, to go to the bathroom. This was a very very very small gay bar, the only in Cupertino. Walking distance from Apple. Almost as small as the In Between in Oahu, HI. In fact the dance floor was just a bit larger than that of the old Phoenix in SF. Anyway, after I left the bathroom and bar, I needed to contact someone at their work, to tell them about a great property I found. But I forgot the phone number. So I used the pay phone (remember those?) out front. But with my calling card (which I still have and I still remember my PIN). This nice gentleman at 411, answered. Hello my name is "whatever", may I help you. I asked him for the number and he searched. He then gave me the number. That was before they would switch you over to an automated system, spitting out the number. After he gave me the number, he said "I hope your having a good day". I said. "I am". Then he said, so what are you doing in front of the Silver Fox?". I was speechless. I had just come out to me maybe a few months ago, so of course, duh! I told him I was working etc. He then said that I had a nice voice, and that he lived in San Jose.....etc. He was actually hinting, and trying to pick me up??
OY! Wonder if his call was monitored? Did he keep his job?
