ELLA - First lady of "Scatt" and Jazz

I was at the post office yesterday; and saw a poster of the commemorative stamp of Ella Fitzgerald. The first woman of Jazz & "Scatt". I remember seeing her sing at the Frost Amphitheater at Stanford U. I was about 14yr old. My mouth dropped open in amazement. The recordings do not give justice to a voice so pure and clear. Her vocal range, and power were incredible. What a lady. What a talent!

Ella and more - The Circle Star "Jerk" Theater

not only did I see Ella, at Stanford U, but Jefferson Airplane, Santana, and lots more (I think?.... I was stoned). And cost only $5 to get in.

Then located in San Carlos/Redwood City, was the Circle Star Theater (where the old Excite buildings are); the intimate theater in the round. One could drive there on last notice, to the box office, minutes before the show, and were guaranteed an available ticket/seat. I saw Patti Labelle, Frank Sinatra, Diana Ross, Liberace, Liza Minnelli,Carol Channing, Louis Armstrong.... Mostly all the Vegas Headliners of that time were bound to entertain at the Circle Star. And only 10 minutes from my home. Those were the days. What a treat. Too bad it closed.

Strangely, about 9 yrs ago, when my partner was ill, there were 2 doves, nestled together under my bedroom window. I tried to scare them away, they never moved, and sat there for days. My partner was in that room at the time. A few days later, he was rushed to the hospital, and hrs later died. That same day, when I returned home from the hospital, the doves were gone, never to be seen again. Wonder if that was coincidence or a sign. I told someone about this, and they said the same thing had happened, when her mother died. We all lived in the same building ....... " twilight zone"........

I run into Michael Brandon, (who is the nicest and has the nicest uh, talent); he always pinches me from behind, or plants a nice kiss on my lips. Hummmm. Even though he has a BF (think his name is Marco/cute)..... maybe I need to be more responsive.... woof! Nah! He is just being nice. Ahhhh fantasy:-)
