What's happening with this world ( ramble)

My grandmother in 1985, at the age of 99 (and in perfect health), said the world seems to be getting worse. She would say, "You would think that after the atrocities of World War One and Two, you would think we would get it right. That human kind would get it right." Anyway she would say, with religious fervor, that this was a sign of the approaching end of the world. Don't know about that, but things do seem to be getting worse. Or is it?

With the recent news of the strange kidnapping case, there have been some other findings of the past week that the press maybe did not air as often

As for the Phillip Garrido case, talk about odd, and spooky. After the CNN interview of his first victim, and wife, this guy is certainly loony (and his wife too) of course. I feel so much for the victims, and what they will have to adjust to from now on.

So what is happening? Children being kidnapped. Families being murdered. Infants murdered, chopped up and so on. Is the world getting worse? Or are we just being overly bombarded due to the instant access to news and media, via their instant access to news events.
Maybe it's time to not listen to the news so much. It is all so sad :(
