As many of you may know, Mister Marcus has been writing in the Leather Scene section of the Bay Area Reporter for many years, reporting on leather events from all over the world. He will be truly missed by SF and the leather community.

"It is with an extremely heavy heart, that I inform the Leather Community at large - and the World...
of the "passing on" of my dear "Daddy" Marcus Hernandez to the other side at 11:20pm this night. He went in peace and was not alone. Thank you to all that supported all of us who were there for him these last months. Your love and compassion is more appreciated than you will ever know. Our lives will never be the same with Marcus gone - but they are richer for having known him. Information on a memorial celebration being planned will be released as soon as details are finalized. Please forward this information to all interested parties and lists on our behalf."

Maybe not for the faint at heart
1. So this morning, just as I am ready to dress, I have a tiny sneeze, and so I blow my nose ever so gently. Ta da! Blood comes gushing, out my nostril. After 30 minutes, with TP, cold water, and then some Afrin (doc said Afrin stops a bloody nose). It stopped. I called the Doc's office, left a message, and they got back to me pretty quick.
2. I was late for work.
3. I went to Kaiser, on my lunch break (it's only a 5 min drive).
4. She assessed that possibly the two visits and with the many cauterization's, the tissue was weak, sort of burned out, so the scab that would form could not secure itself firmly.
5. So I had the choice of leaving it to heal on it's own risking more bleeding later on. Or to apply a nose pack, to keep the tissue still, and help hasten the healing. She cleaned out the area, see where the source of the problem was again.
6. So she took long Q-tips, removed whatever was up there (no not my brains, although I wonder :), and noticed no further bleeding. Asked me what I wanted, and also agreed to the nose pack.
7. She then sprayed some Novocaine, to numb the area. I must mention that I am very resistant to Novocaine and such. 5 shots later at the dentist, and I can still feel it.
8. She then, took a long cotton stick (like a large Popsicle stick), about 4-5 inches long, widened my nostril and then shoved it up.
9. Well, the Novocaine did not set in (of course), and the pain, was interesting. No it was OUCH!!!!!
10. Getting my nipples pierced was less painful. However I had some stitches removed from an eyelid once, and that pain was worse, or this was close to it.
11. She then applied a liquid to the stick, and it bloated immediately. She gave me some antibiotics to prevent any sinus infection.
12. So now I am running around with this white thing up my nose, which I suppose if one doesn't look too close they will not notice. No. They will notice.
13. I am going to the Pot Luck tomorrow, but not the Eagle for sure, unless it's at night(lol)
14. I am to remove this thing on Tuesday morning. I have an appt with her that morning if I have any problems after removal.
15. Aside from that, work went well today. I was up at 4 am, with my mind reeling with yesterday's events, so a bit pooped. Doing laundry and chillin. Glad it's Friday.
16. This medical stuff always interests me. WTF didn't I ever go into medicine?? :(
