Well the tix (the affordable ones) sold out instantly.
peters_search was kind enought to include me in his purchase of tix, but he was only able to snag 2 for he and his partner.
The minimun purchase is 2 tix at $96. If I were to purchase one ticket, it would be $120 +. Hummm. Wonder if that's worth it? Or there is always a next time :(

Problem Remedied
Mar. 19th, 2010 04:49 pm1. When I lived in Redwood City, I had a large balcony, facing south. I got morning sun, but also some good sun until about 2 pm. At that point I would put Chips on the balcony railing in his covered food bowl to bask. The nice thing about the balcony was that it's fascia sides was solid wood, which would allow Chips to freely roam through the forest of green plants (I had a green thumb).
2. The living room was filled with light in the morning. If he were out of his tank, he would sleep in the sun, near the sliding glass window, in his usual Skydiving position
3. When I moved to Pacifica, my smaller balcony faced west (one of my icons was the view). So my whole apt and balcony was bombarded with sunshine from 1 pm till sunset.
4. That was perfect for Chips. His tank was near the window at the balcony, so sun was not an issue.
5. The balcony had stucco walls, so he could freely be there all day. Sunning, sleeping, exploring.
6. At my present place, in South San Francisco, my apt faces approximately south west. I don't get the blaring sun in my apt. And, when not foggy, sun from about 2-5 pm.
7. My patio has grill railings. Not good for a wandering turtle. He would easily walk off the deck and drop 4 stories into the ivy. There are large crows (as there were in Pacifica) and I get a bit worried if they spot him as prey.
8. So it just occurred to me that I have a smaller fish tank (which he also grew up in) in which I store my two large watering cans(the wind here can be so bad, that the cans get blown all over the place if not secured.
9. So I cleaned it up, and put Chips in the sun. He is very happy. So much better than that frickin heat lamp :)
10. I do put a screen on top of the tank, with a rock to weight it down. Those crows or ravens give me some concern.
11. Here he is just beginning to do the Skydiving position (or maybe the airing out the "boys" position). As soon as I leave all fours will be spread. When I want to take a pic, he sees me, and front legs are back on the ground.
