1. Friday was the usual at the Sun. And then an early end of the evening at 440, with Jim. The usual suspects, acquaintances and friends were there too.
2. After a sleep in on Saturday ;), it was a trip to the gym. I then washed my car (the usual $3.00 hand wash station with the wand).
3. That accomplished, I also took a drive to my old stomping grounds in Redwood City; shopped at Sequoia Station, Safeway (the checker forgot to put my avocado in the bag!), then off to Palo Alto to the cemetery and flowers thing, for my parents, and my late partner. The weather was absolutely beautiful. Temps in the high 70's! By the time I had accomplished what I had to do, it was 6 pm, and time to get back home. I decided to nix going to SF to meet friends and just stay in and relax for a change.
4. Sunday, it was gym, and laundry time. After that was accomplished, I decided to get "Betsy" charged up, and washed (the $3.00 hand wash again) for Super Bowl Sunday. The car has been sitting idle in the garage for months, so figured a good drive to San Jose on Sunday would do her good. I have only and rarely tooted her around town. A good 60 mile drive to San Jose, on the freeway, would do her good!
5. It was a beautiful drive down Interstate 280, with the green hills and warm sun to guide my way. Temps in San Jose were in the low 80's! (today, the weather is cooling down substantially hour by hour! Back to our normal temps!)
6. I was cruising over 85 mph, and still most cars were zipping by me! Where are the CHP's?
7. I picked up Jim at his home and we made it in time for watching the game at Renegades at their once a month BUTCH beer bust. Unfortunately he staff could not get the closed caption function on the flat screen TV to work, so we had to watch what we could. It was great seeing the gang. My long time friend Khol joined us. It was good to see other acquaintances and friends that I had not seen for awhile.
8. As time rolled on we lost interest in the game, chatted, and ate marvelous pizza! YUM!
9. Game and beer bust over it was time to get back home.
10. I keep thinking of selling Betsy. But after a nice and smooth drive to San Jose, guess I'll keep her for awhile. It's paid for, insurance is cheap. And good to have a backup in case the Nissan is on the fritz.
With 162,000 it still runs well. Lousy city mpg, but pretty good highway mpg
