The weekend and week so far
Jun. 12th, 2012 08:59 am1. Wouldn't you know it. Our weekend gal, again, who two days after she stopped by the office last Thursday, saying all is ok with her knee, but she can't lift and cant walk great distances, but can work, texted me at 6:00 am Saturday, to say her knee is really in pain this time, could not stand up, and can't make it in for work. I had to pick up Griff and Mama at the BART Castro station at 10 am!

2. So scrambling, I called and emailed our favorite temp agency, in hopes they would check messages on the weekend. Well John apparently did at 8 am. He found someone to cover, to be here by 10am, and work both Saturday and Sunday. So after getting the temp set up, I managed to pick up Griff and Mama by 11:30, and we were off to the River. Very little traffic, we made it in good time. We were staying, sharing a room at the R3 resort (formerly RRR)
3. Carlos (
sfmijo), and Ho were there the night before. Apparently, the Long Island Ice teas, from the Rainbow Bar, hit them hard the night before. They had a good time, but were a bit sick. Carlos had a car accident on the way up on Saturday (some guy backed up into him), so he had to rent a car for the weekend. Poor guy.
4. It was his birthday, among others( Douglas Stromberg), so we were of course celebrated.
5. Many from the city were there lounging by the pools (one wants to leave the city to see new faces but all the familiar ones are there! LOL)
6. So it was the usual, tanning (burning by the pool). Swimming (in the unheated pool..burrrrr!), drinking, eating, and chatting. Odd thing is that there were so many women there. Even Mama didn't like it.
7. Later on we celebrated in the dining room, with a birthday dinner for Douglas, and Carlos. There were about 15 of us. Audry Joseph was also there to celebrate, as was many good friends and acquaintances.
8. We later, after dinner, went into town to the Rainbow Cattle Company Bar, to close the evening. Ho. Carlos, and I of course closed the bar (mama, Griff went home early). We had a great time. There was a straight wedding party staying at Fifes, and they all ended up at the Rainbow later on. Half the bar was gay, and the other half straight. Interesting.
9. Griff and I slept on the floor, while Carlos, Mama, and Ho got the beds. I actually slept very well in my sleeping bag. The only issue was my calves.
10. Friday morning, I worked hard at the gym, and was feeling it over the weekend. I could hardly stand straight up for my calves were tight and sore. And really hurt when touched. Yay! Good sign I'm working out right
11. Sunday, we had breakfast, then were on our way back to SF. We had to go to Tom and Lee's house warming party for 3 pm. The party was nice. Mellow. Then later we all went down the hill to 440, for Furry Sunday. The place was packed, and very warm due to our current heat wave. Therefore shirts were off! Yum!
12. Home early, and in bed early to begin the new work week.
13. What a nice weekend! Mama is having her last birthday celebration at the River this weekend. Think we are staying at Leslie's place (manage of R3). Think I'll pass this weekend. I need to stay home and do some catching up. But we shall see.
14. I really like the River. The area, and the drive up is so beautiful.
