So according to Muscle and Fitness Mag, Arnold works out, or has begun to get in shape again. At 66 years old! Good for him. I was never fond of him as our dysfunctional governor, or his cheating on his wife. But I give him credit, as do I do others for revolutionizing the fitness industry.
He only takes one day off a week? Works out twice a day? OUCH! I'm going to try out these routines, but only once a day. I'm not going into competition, but these are great sets to try out.
1. I usually get a cold sore maybe in the winter, once a year if that. I was stressed out with work, no rest, which had the sore attack me 3 times so far this year.
2. The one a few months ago was the worse one yet. So after doing some research, I find out that I was ingesting too much L-Arginine, and not enough L-Lysine (I usually take L-Lysine when I feel a sore coming on). The balance of the two were off.
3. A few months ago, I started taking for a test, Growth Factor 9. It did give me energy, but alas after looking carefully at the label, it had an equal amount of Lysine and Arginine (2.9 g).
4. This I think pushed everything else over the edge. With eating my usual, almonds, almond milk, walnuts, wheat products as snacks; plus the pre and post workout whey protein and casein drinks, and adding Growth Factor 9,it all added to the mix. Too much Arginine.
5. So I quit. I also quite using, to give my body a rest, any whey protein drinks, supplements of any kind. I cut back on anything higher in the Arginine Lysine ratio.
6. I am just eating more "real" proteins; egg whites, chicken, meats, etc. Real food.
7. After speaking with the owner/trainer of the gym, she said I really don't need all those supplements. Unless I'm into bodybuilding competitions, just eating real food, high in protein etc, will give me good results.
8. So I have a 3 large unopened containers of Whey, Casein, and Aminio Acid Fuel (BCAA's) just waiting to be used.
9. I will give my body a break for now, then later on use these products at a lesser rate I guess.
