You know, I don't think I particularly care for the old three stripe design - either horizontal or vertical stripes. It's been done to death with just about every color combination imaginable.
I'm not too excited about designs that have some sort of little crest, shield, crown, script or logo on them. It all begins to look like you crushed a roach or something with the flag, or confused it with the Bounty early one morning.
I like flags that are bold, make a statement, and aren't likely to be confused with anyone else.
Canada has a great flag, BTW.
As an example, the flags of Puerto Rico and Cuba are very similar. Three stripes and a triangular field with a white star. Which one has the blue field with the red stripes and which has the red field with the blue stripes?
