Is it proper etiquette to display your porn?

Accomplished.
1. Cleaned most of my apartment, for my sister's visit on Saturday
2. Chips (my turtle) was out of the tank watching. But hid under the bed once the vacuum started
3. Now he is outside in his bowl eating. Tuna will be his later surprise treat
4. So I put all the porn away in a trunk (I forgot I had lots more in there! Gads!), and in bags behind clothes in the closet.
5. Question.
I have friends in SF that display tasteful, and some quite provocative gay porn artwork on the walls of their homes. They also have their DVD shelves neatly displaying regular movies, and gay porn. Either that is "really coming out", or they just don't care? Or does it really matter?

I am thinking of dedicating the lower 3-4 shelves of my DVD case, which is behind the 2nd bedroom door to these DVD's. Also on the lower self of my bedroom TV stand. So unless someone is really looking or searching, they will see it. I am really fed up of hiding everything (except when my 86 yr old mom visits).
I for some gut reason, feel I need to put it all away. Is that going back into the closet? Is that old school? Does it really matter? Or should I worry about offending anyone?
What would you do? How do you feel about this?

I don't leave hard-core porn lying around, but I don't go to any lengths to "straighten up" beyond that. I have a few tasteful but definitely homoerotic works of art hanging in the bedrooms, but I don't feel any need to hide them. They all know I'm gay, if they're uncomfortable with it they shouldn't be in my bedroom in the first place. Same deal with my bookshelves and DVD racks... there are some non-porn gay titles in plain sight, with the porny stuff on lower shelves, out of the way but not hidden. If they're going to crawl around on their hands and knees to snoop on my possessions they deserve any distress it causes them.

There are no right or wrong answers. These kinds of decisions are entirely up to one's personal level of comfort.
