Pan Handling Homless in the Castro

cellboyMy friend visiting from Ireland mentioned that the first thing he noticed in the Castro and other areas of SF was the abundance of homeless people pan handling. "It's pretty shocking to see". "I have not see this much in Ireland". This is such a rich country. Sad to see the discrepancy of the rich and poor".
It is annoying: Last week, while walking down Castro, I was held on the shoulder by this woman's hand, following me and asking, non stop, for money.
How can we clean up our areas? :(
This is why living just a few miles South of SF, is sometimes more ideal.
