There is a stray, or feral cat, one of many, around the complex, that has been around more often this week. Some of the residents have been feeding it, and them, for a few yrs. But lately we have asked the residents not to feed the cats of the neighborhood, due to a mouse infestation in the area (cute baby mice, found in some apts), due in part to the 8 million dollar renovation of the golf course across the street (nests were disturbed), and also due to our drought. Happy well fed wild cats do not hunt.
Anyway, every day this week, this thin, cute black cat has found her way into our lobby, comes to the office, meows, and just lays there and watches me. She has come into the office, and sits on my self full of papers. Cute. But she meows too much. She may not be completely wild, for she allows you to pet her. I am more fond of dogs than of cats. In my lifetime we had 5 dogs and only 1 cat. I am really considering taking him to the animal shelter, for a check up etc, and adopting her. But how will Chips, my turtle, feel about this. How will the cat feel about this. Oy! Then there is the litter box ordeal, the gross smell and all. Then there is the furniture. The upholstery. And what to do with her when I go out of town? This building does not allow cats or dogs. :(
I am still considering though
