When paying bills (as I'm doing now), the tear off tabs we encounter on the back of a return envelope (that has advertisements). If you don't tear it off, you can't seal the envelope.
The way cereal boxes and the like just do not open they way they should. The glue prevents a clean initial opening. So that you can't really utilize the so called tabs to lock the opening shut after use.
Just opening the bag inside the cereal box, or some bags in general is annoying. In old days you could just pull apart at the top. Now you need a vice grip, or scissors. Don't know how old peeps can open anything these days, sealed so tight as they are. Guess I'm an old peep! :-)
