is when you get friended by someone, who has never posted a single thing (except for the new members- give em a chance). Or one that has not posted something since May 2008 or longer? I have quite a few. I friended them to see if they have a friends only posts. They do not. So guess I will un-friend them? Would be nice to know a bit about them. This is no big deal but whatever.

If they friended you, you can read any of their friends-only posts. You don't have to friend them first. There are a few people who have friended me for unknown reasons... I checked their entries, found either nothing or nothing relevant, and didn't friend them back. That's the way to go.

I figure LJ is a "You Show Me Yours and I'll Show You Mine" kind of thing. I went through my friends list awhile back and eliminated those who weren't posting. It seems that they never noticed, so "screw 'em".

I don't add anyone who adds me without a message.

For the past month or so I've had a rash of russian ljers add me. Some of whom have had their journals deleted soon after.

I don't go so far as to ban them (though I have thought about it) because it's a waste of my time - but I have thought about it.
