Weekend catch up
Jul. 7th, 2009 04:17 pm1. Last weekend was fairly mellow
2. Friday was gym, then stayed in. With the pool and new plaster, I felt best to be around. Even though the pool area was locked, who knows what kids would get in and ruin the fresh plaster
3. By Saturday mid day, the pool was half full. I was trying to calculate how long it would take to fill.. boy was I off.
4. I did go to the Castro to meet friends, mid afternoon, who I did not get to catch up with. I was not really in a drinking mood, with 4th of July and driving. So after one beer, and tossing out the 2nd, I was off to home, to check out the pool.
5. So how long did it take to fill. By dinner time, I had about two feet to go. So I figured, 2 am? Wrong. So I went to bed, set the alarm, drank lots of water so I would wake up to pee, then drink water again, and check the pool level.
6. So I was up at 1am, 2am, 4am, 6am. The pool was at the final level at 8 am, Sunday. YAWN. I really miscalculated this one. I was pooped.
7. Sunday, it was the Eagle Beer Bust, then Lone Star. Same old stuff. On my way out, I received a call from a friend that an acquaintance's partner's passed away in sleep, while they were napping. Sad. They have been together 14 yrs.
8. I started with my trainer Monday. Some people say, I am spending (even though he is very reasonable), where maybe I shouldn't, but I do feel the difference when I work out with him. I am sore! Just that extra push, that I probably don't do alone, even though I think I do, is key. Until I find a good workout partner to push me, and visa vesa... the trainer will stay
9. I worked hard last month without him. He still says I need to work even more. My arms have improved, but not enough he says (thanks for bursting my bubble). Thicker, but I need more of a bicep bump. But he is right. So back to the fitness salt mines :)
10. As for work, same old stuff. I need to win the Lotto!
11. Yes. I watched MJ's farwell at work. Very moving.
