Some of the earliest memories of cars that come mind, are these that I remember as a young child growing up in Quebec.
1. The 1957-1959 BMW Isetta. When visiting my aunts and uncles in Plessisville, the neighbor across the street had something similar to this. I was amazed that the door opened in front. And that it ran on three wheels.

2. The Nash Metropolitian

3. The Amphicar. We lived near various lakes, so I saw other vehicles similar to this around town.

All of these were tiny, and reminded me of my Dinky Toys (British version somewhat similar to Matchbox) that I played with. I still have a box full of these toys somewhere in storage.
These would be fun cars to have today :)

A friend of mine in Montreal owned an Amphicar... he bought it from a private auto museum that was going out of business. I rode in it several times, including a couple of excursions across a lake. It could be driven directly into and out of the water; tires were useless for propulsion in the water, of course, so it had a small propeller in the back that could be engaged through a control on the dashboard. The tires weren't completely useless... they served as rudders. The thing rode very, very low in the water, and it looked like one good wave would swamp it and send it to the bottom.

Yeah. I remember seeing one in the water, by which the water level was so close to the top. Hey, if you want to get
together this week or next, let me know what works for you :).

Your place? I have a coupon for a decent Chinese restaurant in Belmont...

I don't recall if I gave you my new number, so I just texted it to you.

I have eaten there for lunch. It's not bad. We can meet here (my place) if you'd like? I'll call you a bit later in day :)
