much a ramble about nothing

cellboy1. I got woken up this morning, about 3:30am with the sound of thunder, and flash of lightning, accompanying the sound of pounding rain. I thought the biggie was on it's way on Wednesday?
2. Thunder and lightning is rare in the Bay Area, so something rare like this would wake anyone up (even one who lives on the 4 times per day flight path of SFO jets).
3. It reminded me of the record strikes we had in the South Bay yrs ago, where for almost 30 minutes, there were lighting strikes repeatedly for every 15-60 seconds.
4. It also brought me back to my childhood in Quebec, playing tent on the covered porch, as the electric storms and thunder pounded away (or when I was younger, waking up with fright, as the house shook and rattled with the slapping thundering sound).
5. I did not sleep well after that. Old habits from managing a building long a ago, where flooding, roof leaks, and power outages where very common, at almost every storm)
6. Usually there is a power outage in this neighborhood. But not yet. Maybe tomorrow with the next storm. I will avoid the elevators as much as possible (our elevators are small. You would not want to spend too much time in them)
7. As for shopping, I pleasantly discovered that many over the counter things that I purchase at Walgreen's and CVS can also be purchased at the Kaiser Hospital Pharmacy. At a much cheaper price. How did they manage to beat the prices? One can save $1.00 or more.
8. Walgreen's however is having a sale on dress and casual socks. So I bought some, to replace my socks that mysteriously disappeared during laundry (they went to sock heaven; or maybe hell)
9. I am going to do some light chest man-scaping today, and a trim here and there, so that by the time my trip approaches, it will have grown back a bit, in a tidier form. This also causes temporary itchiness.
