What happened?

Someone at the SF Leather contest commented on the group, the local group saying,
"What happened to our Leather Community, the men we have known for years? They have all gotten fat."
Someone else commented,
"Because they never go out, and hunt on line, they don't have to be in good shape anymore"
Another commented,
"We have gotten older, and go to too many beer busts."

I don't agree totally. Some have gained a little, maybe especially those that have husbands. The single ones still are holding up pretty well. But we all have gotten much older. Some look remarkably hot for all the years tacked on, and the blocks they have been around. Some people, due to life's ups and downs don't, or have given up on being a bit fit. That's just part of life. :)
In all, I think our community still looks pretty good.

Your observations seem sound.

The idea that people would get fat because they hunt online is just baffling. They are hunting online but never meeting anyone? Because they intend to flake all the time? Because they don't mind lying about their appearance? That may describe a few people, but it makes no sense as a general statement.

The married / single distinction sounds like a more reasonable hypothesis. Especially if, as you say, your observation supports it.
