1.I really don't want to go to the Pride Parade this year
2.In fact I'm probably not.
3.I have been to a parade every year for over 26 years.
4.To support, to cheer, to be there. To show our pride.
5.I have walked it, and volunteered.
6.I've been wheel monitor for 5-6 years in a row, which actually is more fun. You see most of the contingents at the starting line, getting set up and ready. Which cuts the 3+ hour parade into minutes (well not really).
7.When walking in the parade, you cut the time down to 45 minutes
8.When most of my friends have seen it for the first time, most say it was good, but they probably would not see it again. Too long.
9.I think the parade is great. And I know we should be there to support. But it's just too long (is this getting repetitive?) . And the parking! I know. Take BART.
10.I'd rather go to Pink Saturday. And then hang out at the Civic Center after the parade.
11.You know. I have said this every year. And end up going. For at least part of it.... But then again, we shall see.

Rick, come work in the ACLC beverage booth with us! There's plenty of shade, and lots of pretty men to look at.

Thanks Allan! I will consider! I have 1 (possibly 2) friends coming down Saturday night for pride. So I will leave it up to them as what they want to do (wink). And if, it works out, I'll join the booth when there, if that works :)

To work in the Pride booth, you'll need an ABC (alcoholic beverage control) card, which is easily obtained by attending of the various training sessions being held over the next few weeks. (You can find the sessions by going to ACLC's website at www.acleather.org.) The card is good for three years, and allows you to serve alcohol at any Pride or Folsom event.

Thanks! BTW. They need 4 wheel monitors for the sound truck, for the Leather Pride Contingent event, if you know of anyone that may want to do it(which involves quick and easy training too). I may consider the beverage thing for a change of pace. I need to see if my friends are really going to be here to visit. Then of course plans will be easier to make :)
