Tired of eating almonds as a snack, I picked up a couple of bags of shelled sunflower seeds from Trader Joe's. Olive oil, salt and sea salt, and bake..... YUM!
You buy as "Raw seeds" without the shell. And it's a couple of bucks less than the roasted ones. Preheat oven to 350. Just pour seeds into a bowl, and add a bit of olive oil, stir to coat. Spread seeds evenly on a baking sheet, drizzle with salt, then some sea salt. Place on a center oven rack. Bake for about 10 minutes, then turn them over, as best your can, with a spatula. Bake another 5-10 minutes till golden brown (they can cook fast so check the oven often!). Next time I will try some onion and garlic salt. You can bake pumpkins seeds this way too.
