Seasonal eating? Important or not?
Dec. 27th, 2010 10:05 pmI don't remember where I heard it, either from TV or from a nutritionist friend, but someone was stating that eating foods of the season has been lost by many. That it is important not to continually eat those summer fruits and vegetables that are shipped in from thousands of miles away. But to give the body a change. A break. A change of foods, that are part of our seasonal change. Mother Nature's season change. It can be more nutritious, and better for you that way? The way it had been for thousands of years? Those fresh seasonal nutrients? I'm not sure about all of this, but it does make some sense. We are to eat a varied diet, but maybe we need to stick to what is in season. Here are a few quick links.
