The weekend and week so far

cellboyWell....there is Sunday parking now! :(
1. Friday, even though we did do the Happy Hour with friends, that night took a fun and unusual turn.
2. Every so often the current Imperial Emperor and Empress do the Bus bar crawl. They lease a large tour bus, with help and sponsorship of 4-5 of the local bars. Then travel through the city stopping at the bars. On the bus serving food, liquor, and there is plenty of music.
3. Did this years ago. Doing this is not really my cup of tea these days.
4. But my best friend Carlo's home, and his roommate Phillip (Chika - past Empress) were one of the bar stops.
5. Not in SF but in Daly City, at the mobile home park where he lived!
6. So Jim and I joined drove to his home after the Midnight Sun happy hr, and had a great time. It was interesting driving up to his home and seeing this huge tour bus parked in front of his mobile home (the bus seemed almost as big as his double wide!)
7. Lots of food, drink, music. After the bus left with the couple dozens of people on board, we stayed and visited. Had a great mellow time.
8. Up late, it was somewhat of a sleep in on Saturday morning. I had the idea of later going into Golden Gate Park, to the California Academy of Sciences. I had not been to this since it had be reconstructed (think last time I was there was in my teens!) I asked Jim if he would join me. He did. We had a nice time. But the ticket prices! OMG! Know it will be awhile before I go back to this for awhile! The exhibits were great. Many the same from the past, but just in a newer environment. We also stopped by the AIDS MEMORIAL GROVE, to show him where my late partner's name is engraved in the Circle of Friends. I used to volunteer at the once a month work day at the grove. Miss doing that. Think I'll join again.
9. Back home fairly early, I was just in the mood to stay in on my own, watch the baseball game, surf the web (wink), and get to sleep early (I was actually exhausted! I could not keep my eyes open)
10. Sunday I was up at 6:30 am, did laundry, and was off to the gym.
11. My Diet Friday, consisted, of taking my maintenance man out to lunch at one of the best Mexican places in town. Instead of getting the two small chicken tacos, I thought I would sin and have the large burrito.
12. Three hours later Jim shows up to go to happy hour at the Sun with a box of the $5 fried chicken special from Safeway. I tried to resist eating the skin, but it was too tasty not to! Yum!
13. Then that night, Carlos was serving taco chips, tacos, and taquitos, and ice cream. YUM!!!!.
14. I woke up Saturday morning 7 pounds heavier, than on Friday morning! So it will be strict cardio at the gym this week to rid the water retention and all that tasty fat!
15. Sunday, since the Eagle was closed it was off to a benefit for Folsom Street Events at the Lone Star. Not only was the wind, and air very cold (what's up with our bizarre weather?), but the bar was very very very uncomfortably packed! The best place we could find to stand, was near the outside bar, along the wall, near the path leading inside. Even that was uncomfortable. I'm sure they were breaking all fire code occupancy standards. It took forever just to get to the bathroom!
16. Cody said it was so crowed last week, he left and went to 440. So after a couple of hours we all ventured to KOK Bar (old Chaps II). That was not as bad, but I had had it with crowds and wanted home to eat. Yes I had the rest of the fried chicken. YUM! Off to the gym today!
17. I have to work on two employee reviews today. Hate doing this with a passion!
